Symptom: After Pressing the eco-button my computer wakes on its own ( Vista )

The computer is coming out of standby on its own, there are a couple of reasons as to why this might be happening:

Remedy:

1. Your Network Card is waking your computer (Wake up on LAN is enabled on your network card)

Go into Control Panel, select System, then click on the Device Manager button, then select Expand Network adaptor (click on the plus sign).

Select your network adaptor by Right clicking on it, select Properties then select the Power Management tab.

Tick the top box "Allow computer to turn off this device" and un-tick the bottom box "Allow this device to bring computer out of standby"

2. Some mice have been found to be "over active" and can therefore bring you PC out of sleep mode, to test this disconnect your mouse and put your PC to sleep

Note: To view what devices can bring your PC out of standby click Start then type run

now type in cmd

This should bring up a Command window, now type powercfg -devicequery wake_armed and hit ente.r
This should give you a list of the devices that can wake your PC
