In 1992 the UK Government established The Energy Saving Trust and set a target for reducing UK emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2 ), one of the greenhouse gases responsible for climate change, by 20 per cent of 1990 levels by 2010. The Energy Saving Trust is a non-profit organisation, funded both by government and the private sector. Our aim is to cut emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) by promoting the sustainable and efficient use of energy. We provide impartial information and advice and have a network of advice centres in the UK specifically designed to help people take action. |
